Maksym Dykyi

Senior Android Engineer

I build the Android software inside SHERP's extreme all-terrain vehicles, from the C++ CAN bus layer up to the Jetpack Compose UI, and lead the team behind it. I've worked in Android for 6+ years and also ship iOS apps and Kotlin backends.

From the CAN bus up to the screen

I own SHERP's in-vehicle Android platform. Telemetry travels up from the vehicle to the driver; commands travel back down.

  1. Screen

Jetpack Compose UI the driver uses to monitor and control the machine. Built for mud, cold and no signal.

  2. App

Kotlin, Coroutines and Flow streaming real-time powertrain telemetry and control of lighting, winch and climate.

  3. Driver

The CAN bus driver layer in C++ through the NDK. I designed it to connect the Android device to the vehicle's controllers reliably and in real time.

  4. Vehicle

The vehicle's controllers, over CAN bus.

3 vehicle models shipped, which together brought in over $1M in sales. The 4th is in development.

Team built from zero. I set the hiring strategy, ran the technical interviews and onboarded 3 engineers.
